Core Profile

• Status, in progress plan:

• Will CDI Project get restarted due to the Patent License? Or, will it stay as-is?
  • Depends on resolution by EF

• Should Config be a part of the first version of Core Profile?
  • Depends on the plan for Config when it is put forward
  • Will be clearer in approx a Month

• CDI Lite the gating factor for Core Profile, not Config

• Release plan pretty much done, should be ready for ballot this week

Discussion around Platform vs “Full Profile”

• Distinguish Platform from profiles?
  • Jan will do more investigation and start the discussion with this team via the mailing list
• Communicate clearer that Platform and Full Profile is the same thing
  • Update https://jakarta.ee/about/faq to better explain ^
• Care must be taken to ensure we don’t introduce any new confusion

TCK call will be set up in September and going forward

• Research being done around the refactoring
• Platform TCK branch has been created for the TCK refactoring
  • Target EE 10, or potentially later releases
• Started switch to JDK11 as base.

• Two out of three are done, with only Faces left. Arjan has agreed to do this work for Jakarta EE 10.
