Top of mind for Jared, James

  • No new CCRs
    • 9 remaining Payara CCRs requiring updates
    • A couple did get some updates last week. Ivar will look at the two updated and follow up on the ones with no updates
  • Jakarta Agentic AI 1.0-M1 is now available

Jakarta EE 12

  • M6 week 6.5 of 6.5 starts this week (M6 ends Aug 15 (Saturday))

  • Core Profile progress
    • CDI
    • JSON-B
      • 3.1.0 M1 is out
      • The specifications page is now updated to include 3.1-M1.
      • M2 is in good shape. Just a few updates to be made for some testing and spec for record support
      • Also a yasson service release for 3.0 for some bugs which helps the community of users of yasson.
    • JSON-P
      • No M1 yet, but is planned
    • REST
      • No M1 yet
      • Waiting for reviews before anything can be merged
    • Sept 30 original target seems unattainable, so moved to 4Q. Would still like to have it before JakartaOne on December 1 if possible.
  • Open forum
    • Glassfish has a M3 release coming out for EE 12.
      • Has M5 for Jakarta Faces and M2 for security and authorization
      • Has latest CDI and Weld
      • Security updates include changes to have first class support for REST – aligns with what MicroProfile defined for security support
        • Do we need additional language in REST / Core Profile since Jakarta Security is not part of Core Profile?
        • RestResourcePermission will be added to authorization
        • There is no authorization API update yet in maven. It is current in exousia during prototyping
        • Still working on determining security setup now to have all in one spec, but may still be multiple API resources
        • Security is still in jakarta.security.enterprise group. Looking to move to just jakarta.security
    • Glassfish still doesn’t have an EE 12 implementation of persistence for Glassfish if they stay with EclipseLink.
      • Other vendors do depend on EclipseLink like WebLogic
      • Robert from Oracle expressed willingness to help
